JLaw's Joy's an adequate act but soap scenes seem silly and the ending's egregious.

This was a bit of a mess. The only real character they let you spend any time with is bimodal - kickin' ass or getting stomped on, and there wasn't really any emotional arc to get to either state. Big misstep by O'Russell.
