Argo (2012)

Part thriller, part Hollywood satire. Arkin steals the movie IMHO. Too bad the film was not faithful to the real story (there are some, ahem, important Canadian players missing). Still a very enjoyable, tense and entertaining film.

Argo (2012)

Thrilling and well made. I was never bored. Still a Hollywood version of history, but overall much better than expected. Thank you Canada.

Argo (2012)

Undersells the role of Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor and his team, but still tells an important story. Moreover, it reminds us of a regime and a country that remains very much unfree and terrifyingly controlled.

Argo (2012)

The fact that this movie won best pictures proves just how much Hollywood loves itself. Pure Tinseltown masturbation--and rife w/ historical inaccuracy, evidently. Affleck, et. al., please get over yourselves. Best picture, my ass. The other noms weren't great, but were better.

Argo (2012)

Intrigue abounds in this atypical spy thriller. There was a great sense of tension and pace that Affleck deserves the credit for mixed with some lighter moments with Alan Arkin and John Goodman. If you didn't enjoy this then all that can be said is Argo Fuck Yourself.

Argo (2012)

Best bestowed on Ben's a bit beyond me. Argo's alright and all that (applause for, ahem, America), but Ben behaves burnt-out, Canada's contribution's clipped, and action's almost absent.

Argo (2012)

Pretty enjoyable film. As a Canadian, I appreciate all the CanCon, but as I understand some liberties were taken with the story. The airport scene at the end apparently went much more SPOILER smoothly END SPOILER. Whatever. Entertaining.

Argo (2012)

I'll give my commendations to the directing for the intensity it was able to inject into scenes, scenes that couldn't be easily cranked up through other means. I guarantee you will be surprised by how much you are pumped up by this movie. Practically a thriller in nature.

Argo (2012)

I cannot explain how taken I was by this. Unbelievable cast, writing, tension, et. al. Affleck didn't have to be shirtless in this, but he was.

Argo (2012)

This movie was akin to prying off your kneecaps with a rusty spoon, except not as pleasurable.. A jingoistic affair geared towards American mediocrity that rewrites history with little character development and easy clichés…

Argo (2012)

I put off seeing this for a long time because I don't care about boring political dramas, but it totally wasn't. I left the theatre with tensey shoulders. Really great.

Argo (2012)

Enjoyed this a lot more than expected. It brought warmth to my cold patriotic Canuck heart. Affleck gave a Hollywood flourish to a true story that I thought was a great balance between fiction and truth. Drinking game: Drink every time someone says Canada.

Argo (2012)

Appreciate the merits of this movie, hence the 80, but was not a fan of Affleck's acting, was even a bit annoyed by it. Disappointed to see it win at the Golden Globes, hope it doesn't happen at the Oscars. Don't need to see Affleck and Clooney thanking each other any more.

Argo (2012)

At one point I remember feeling justified in not liking Ben Affleck - but Argo will hold up as one of the best movies of the year. I watched this a few weeks ago, so I'm having a hard time coming up with specific critiques, but the 70s haircuts alone are entertaining enough.
