Synopsis:

Enraged at the slaughter of Murron, his new bride and childhood love, Scottish warrior William Wallace slays a platoon of the local English lord's soldiers. This leads the village to revolt and, eventually, the entire country to rise up against English rule.

Braveheart (1995)

While it plays with history a little this is a great, almost old school, action/historical epic. Back before Mel became a bit of a train wreck personally, he knew how to make some of the finest films in entertainment. Who needs deep when the alternative is this good.
