Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)

It's amazing how if you take the apes and make them into humans then this seems like a fairly stock story but having it be apes versus humans made it feel fresh. The gravitas of Andy Serkis helps immensely as well.

Ape..movie...boring. I was disappointed in this movie. It was clear that all the money for this movie went towards CGI because not much was spent on the screenplay.

I was a little disappointed in this. Seemed like stock summer blockbuster material, and I was hoping for something that set it apart. Don't get me wrong - it's was alright, but not quite "good" for me.

There is a part in this movie with the ape, riding a horse, with a gun while jumping over a wall of fire. This movie is so good I don't find that ludicrous at all, I find it terrifying.
