Dune (1984)

A product of its time for sure. But even taking that in to account, I think the story was pretty poorly told. Even at 2 hours, it seems like the movie ended early. Characters were quickly introduced to fill in plot details from the book, when they should have just been dropped.

Dune (1984)

This might not make David Lynch happy but the truth is I think this is his best film. It's absolutely steeped in the time and place it was made but at the same time has some timeless appeal to it. It would rank higher though if not for the horrible voice over bits.
