Inglourious Basterds (2009)

The film is fun. There are some absolutely once in a lifetime cool scenes. But there's a danger of misinterpreting this for something remotely approximating history. Yes, such people exist. QT does better revealing seedly unknown extremes. Nazis are a well known evil extreme.

Inglourious Basterds (2009)

Very, very good, but not very great. In Pulp Fiction, every scene is pitch-perfect; not the case here. Some hit great heights (i.e. the opening scene with Waltz is RIDICULOUSLY good ) while others are OK at best. Ultimately, Waltz, Brühl and Laurent make the film.

Inglourious Basterds (2009)

Tarantino struck a fine balance with this one, hence the high rating. Just enough gore to be decidedly his work, enough historical context to elevate it above a Kill Bill style bloodbath. Characters are highly believable and profoundly interesting, and the plot thickens nicely.
