Life of Pi (2012)

I loved the book. But this movie was much too disappointing. Oh yeah sure, great cinematography and all that jazz, but it was still too dull.

Lee's Life's a looker. Distinguished directing and deffy decent delivery. Think that this theologizing theatre's thoroughly thrilling in three-D. Thank you.

I was blown away. The visuals made Avatar look like The Croods and it's renewed my faith in CGI. For years I thought this story would be unfilmable, but the project was truly ambition realized. High fidelity too.

Without a doubt the most well made movie I've ever seen. Scenes that I was dreading for looking cliche (from foreknowledge from having a read of the book) were done in insane magnificence. I don't know how people will still be able to make movies without feeling shame.

Watched this movie over 2 sessions, which I do not like doing, and also did not see it at the movies in 3D. Despite this, the movie was still very enjoyable and unique. Had to seek out my animals and tell them how much they mean to me when this was over.

It was fine and probably really pretty in 3D. I don't really get all the critical acclaim this is receiving and I hate its ridiculously puerile argument for god's existence.

Meh.

Not your standard Hollywood fare by any means. The visuals were absolutely stunning and the story engrossing. Definitely one of my favorite films of the year.

Visually dazzling. A magical movie experience. Some of the best use of 3D/CGI to date. Haven't read the book so can't comment on how good the adaptation was. I ended up feeling that I wanted to like this more than I actually did; still, a beautiful film.
