The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James Kirk, is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. Star Trek (2009)

This reboot was surprisingly good. Ship is apparently off scale for no particularly well-explained reason. Actors do as good as can be expected for playing those characters, but I still miss D. Kelley.

Star Trek (2009)

To devout ST fans, it's heresy: instead of a Mass by Bach, they got a born-again rock band singing "Jesus rules". It's more rape and pillage than reboot. For non-believers (me), it succeeds on its own terms: slick, engaging (and yes, mostly mindless) entertainment.

Star Trek (2009)

If you don't like this movie, you are an imbecile. It took a mediocre series and made it great. If you weren't shedding tears in the first 5 mins you are a soulless freak.

Star Trek (2009)

This movie is a trite, painful simplification of a series that used to brag intellectual and introspective gravitas. It's a shameful, pitiful shell of a franchise that once helped define a generation, and is now two hours of lens flare, tits, and cheap jokes.
