Goon (2012)

I was hoping for hilarious, back and forth, trash-talking, hoser dialogue, and something worthy of a comparison to Slap Shot (best hockey movie ever). Instead I got a weird romantic drama/comedy whose storyline never got traction. I miss Stiffler

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)

I know some people love this series more than white people love hummus, but I just found myself quickly desensitized to the violence after the 13th consecutive minute of knife fighting.

Bon Cop Bad Cop (2006)

Being a Montrealer, this movie hits all the right notes. It touches on the brightly-burning French-English conflict in Canada with plenty of clever, subtle inuendo in both languages. It teaches how to swear in Quebec while pointing out that French lovers are, in fact, the best.

Resident Evil (2002)

I remember this being one of the first R-rated movies I saw in theaters and those crazy zombie dogs scared the shit out of me!!! But actually this movie sucked.

Forrest Gump (1994)

My favorite movie of all time to which all other will be compared. So many phrases from this movie have entered our vernacular.

Zombieland (2009)

A fun, breezy, breath of zombie-fresh air. Mark Zuckerberg's performance puts his classic, quick, bursts-of-sentence awkwardness on display. BE A HERO

Rollerball (2002)

I remember watching this movie at the theater with high school homies before going to a sleepover where I got food poisoning. The vomiting was the highlight of the night.

Notorious (2009)

Jamal Woolard's performance as Biggie is great. Everything from his playful, nasally flow to his deep, whale grunts sounds convincing. And Biggie's son plays him as a child. Beautiful

One Week (2008)

This gem stars Canadian music, scenery and Tim-Hortons-loving, shinny-hockey-playing nostalgia. Really pulls at the heartstrings of restless, wanderlusty, existential-crisis having twentysomethings everywhere. Very inspirational.
