Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012)

I'm glad this film has received so much attention because it really was unlike anything else that came out this year. It's more of an experience than a narrative. I didn't fall in love with it, but I can certainly see why others did. See it, if only for the stunning visuals.

Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012)

Hushpuppy lives in destitute conditions vacant of any local education system or structure, yet she eloquently recites poetic narration filled with grown up, non-idealistic views of the world she can't possibly understand. Wah to overly precocious child leads. Beautifully shot.

Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012)

One of the best movies I've seen in awhile, a mix of reality and fantasy set in an isolated fishing community around New Orleans during hurricane Katrina. The young actress in the lead role is incredible.
