Cloverfield (2008)

Format just frustrates the kaiju/godzilla fan in me. Many of us like smart people dealing with the situation. Story could be redeemed with a sequel, but this was just frustrating. Blair Witch and supernatural type stuff is a better concept for finding tapes etc.

Cloverfield (2008)

The previews sold me. We knew that New York was being attacked by something, but had no idea what. The handheld worked but the film lost me as soon as the creature was shown. Filmmakers need to realize that the viewers imagination will create something far scarier than they can.

Cloverfield (2008)

A good example of the found footage film done right, although it did have the advantage of a huge budget compared to most of the films in that genre. I really enjoyed the creature design and the feeling of panic this film had throughout.

Cloverfield (2008)

Original movie, definitely haven't seen anything else like it. I thought it was good! Some cool scenes, like climbing up a leaning skyscraper to the roof.

Cloverfield (2008)

A new, more intimate twist on the standard monster movie formula which is far from perfect, but generates genuine tension and keeps the audience engaged from end to end. Decent characterization for the subject matter and solid cinematography.
