In Bruges (2008)

Tour de force. However silly the filler bits were (karate, dwarves), their juxtaposition with Bruges and the solemnity of the film's themes figures well into the final product.

In Bruges (2008)

Regardless of whether you think the town of Bruges is or is not in fact a "shit hole", it's hard to deny this film's effective mix of poignant drama and clever humour. Colin Farrell is hilarious, Brendan Gleeson is charming, and Ralph Fiennes is bloody insane. Also: midgets.
