Melancholia (2011)

Very good movie but depressing and heavy like most of Lars von Trier's stuff. The sci-fi touch of the mystery planet was cool. Definitely needs to be watched more than once.

Melancholia (2011)

"The Earth is evil" ... no surprise coming from von Trier the depressive. In the last film, women were evil. Now, it's everything. But, vT is a masterful filmmaker: beautiful cinematography. And a fascinating concept: What if the planet were doomed?

Melancholia (2011)

Dark and depressing, yet beautiful. Some of the acting and dialogue was clumsy, but it didn't seem to matter. This film was about mood and tone, not plot. Visceral.
