The Blair Witch Project (1999)

Blair Witch has the discipline and patience to invest in its characters rather than cashing in credibility for cheap startle scares like its modern day copycats. The extra time spent on authenticity allows the earthy simplicity of the found footage format to shine.

The Blair Witch Project (1999)

This movie really worked well in 1999. The internet wasn't as ubiquitous as it today. I wasn't sure what was real and what wasn't regarding this movie. As far as the movie itself goes, it's a slow hike up terror mountain but worth every minute.

The Blair Witch Project (1999)

One thing I will infinitely appreciate this movie for is that is has no "money shot" where it shows me the monster and ruins the illusion. Extremely believable, chilling, and gains major praise from me for essentially inventing a genre of horror film (be it one i don't like).
