Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013)

Too many dry patches to compare it to the original in any favorable light. Had enough laughs sprinkled throughout to not make it feel like a waste of time watching it but it really doesn't have that something special the original did.

Carrell and Kristen's courtship queasily contrived and Ferrell phones it in. Some sequels should stay scripts.

Felt a little like a cheap grab for people's fondness for the first. A few laughs at a ton of nonsensical, bewildering plot points, but that's pretty much what you should be expecting with this anyway.

I knew I would be disappointed, but not quite to this extent. What explains this drop in quality? The laughs were something scarce. Neither notable nor quotable. And so much could have been done with the subject. All the makings of an Adam Sandler movie, without Adam Sandler.
