Midnight in Paris (2011)

Expected to be disappointed, as with most WA films. Was not. (That said, I have a special connection with the city of Paris. So I *had* to watch this.) This movie was made for me! It was a perfectly charming, smart, magical, witty film.

Midnight in Paris (2011)

It is what it is: Paris porn for North Americans who romanticize about the city and the lost generation. Fans of the writers/artists of that era will most likely get off. But really, it's basically "cute" little romantic comedy. Wilson is a more tolerable neurotic than Allen.

Midnight in Paris (2011)

Started stilted, trying too tough to tune in tableau. Allen artifically applies angst to actors' arguments. Film finishes fine. Paris plainly picture perfect to place pic. Wilson works where Woody's weak.

Midnight in Paris (2011)

Considering I went in expecting Paris Hilton's sex tape, this film was either disappointing or surprisingly good, depending on your feelings towards Big Bird.

Midnight in Paris (2011)

Positively charming. It turns out Owen Wilson makes a pretty good Woody Allen proxy. The logistics of Midnight in Paris might make little sense, but it sure doesn't matter when its as funny and enjoyable as this.
