Mud (2013)

A brilliant update to the Huck/Finn story. The director totally captures the quiet, scary, south where trouble is brewing around every street corner, bush or swamp. It has the same feel as HUD, another brilliant southern flick. McConaughey is first rate!

Mud (2013)

Magic. Nichols' has penned a story that would do Twain proud. Provocative, beautiful... Hands down McConaughey's finest turn. Even the kid actors are at the top of their game. It's bizarre, but Mud's imperfections only seem to strengthen it. I would recommend this universally.

Mud (2013)

Jeff Nichols third film and he continues to make movies I really like. I think this was bit of a stylistic departure from Shotgun Stories and Take Shelter, and I would have liked to see more of Michael Shannon - but this still a real good movie.

Mud (2013)

Filled with stunning cinematography and masterful acting, Mud is a damn good film. My only gripe is with the overly complex plot which forced too quick an ending. Still, there are enough charming and memorable scenes throughout that I recommend it to everyone.
