Sofia serves us a satisfactory story about the setbacks of shameless secularism. Mediocre but mesmerizing matter might be pleasing to pop fans and still simultaneously substandard to cinematic sophisticates.

Bleh. As other have said, the main problem with The Bring Ring is its lack of substance. It's a glossy, but emotionally flat retelling of the real story. Save yourself some time and skim the Wikipedia article.

Somewhat interesting but mostly without substance and doesn't really ever give you anything to sink your teeth into. Coppola's sharp eye translates into a stylish film, but since "Lost in Translation", her writing has been weak. I'd like to see her direct better scripts.

Kids these days. In typical Coppola fashion, The Bling Ring isn't easy to watch and it's not really satisfying either but it is *so* sumptuous and atmospheric that this isn't really a big deal. Jet black. There are roughly zero laughs.
