Pacific Rim (2013)

Pacific promises pulse pounding but practices poor acting, a predictable plot, problems with plausibility, and plenty prosaicism.

Pacific Rim (2013)

Great concept. Great Kaiju. Excellent sequel potential. Disappointed to learn Idris Elba actually sounds like that. Writing needed a little work. And don't bother with serious relationship plots in kaiju film - just give us smart and sensible people trying to save the world.

Pacific Rim (2013)

For the first half of this movie I thought it was a mindless summer blockbuster that I could really get behind - something I'm not above. But the story's lack of attention to detail wore on me and by then end it was too much. Visually awesome, but overall very disappointing.

Pacific Rim (2013)

The biggest negative would be that this film is predictable as hell all the way through. Luckily with this kind of movie it doesn't matter. It's the Giant Monster vs Giant Robot version of a sports movie. You know what will happen but it doesn't matter. It's still heaps of fun.

Pacific Rim (2013)

Giant robot vs. Giant monster fights - 15/10 Acting - 3.5/10 Acting as if starring in a B movie - 10/10 Hilarious! The SciFi mechanics (heavy on the -Fi) are perfectly ambiguous enough for heaps of nerd postulates. Del Toro knew what he was making. The cast, not so much.
