The Collector (2009)

Even at a buck thirty, this movie felt really long at times. The story itself isn't a terrible idea, but the bloody bits went from gross to gruesome to goofy in a really bad way. Leave more to the imagination, tighten up the story and you got yourself a decent movie.

The Collector (2009)

I could go much lower on this if it weren't for the storyline. It keeps you guessing and there's a fantastic villain in the Collector, but does it refresh its genre? Nope. Every torture porn trope is present and accounted for. There were several times I considered turning it off.

The Collector (2009)

I will relish the day that my penchant for watching random, mediocre horror movies will pay off. The soundtrack in this is actually pretty damn good, but it lingered on torture porn scenes and left a bad taste in my mouth. Solves some plot holes beautifully and shits in others.
