Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

It feels checklisted, like he created his own set of rules he had to follow to make this movie, all of them parts of other movies I've seen from him, but mostly bits that only work in moderation. Also I thought the acting should've had birthed some young Razzie winners.

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

Man, this really wasn't turning my crank. I'm an Anderson fan, but I think that Moonrise only crystallizes haters' main critique of him. The film felt quirky for quirky's sake, and writing and acting fell to formula. Anyone else see a Margot redux in the Suzy character?

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

Really, really different ... even for an Anderson film. Smaller, sweeter, more subtle than his other works in many ways. It's amazing that he's able to get these movies out there, given how unusual they are. Maybe his best?

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

MK sacrifices emotional connections to or between it's characters in lieu of dialogue that's as trendy as the film is pretty. Visually stunning as always, I love how Anderson centres everything in frame, and props on rocking the abrupt zoom! Wouldn't watch it again. Even for $5.

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

Every shot interesting, every word of dialogue necessary, every expression meaningful - There is absolutely no one who makes films like Wes Anderson. I don't think there's a filmmaker whose movies I enjoy more.

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

Whimsical, romantic, and lots of fun. Each frame is beautifully constructed and matched by an excellent score, but there's also a sweet love story underneath all the eye candy. It's still familiar territory for Anderson, but it also feels like a step forward for him.

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

Moonrise Kingdom was a cute and endearing love story filled with unique characters and dialogue, excellent visuals and as always, a perfectly matched score. It's exactly what we've come to expect from a Wes Anderson film.
