Very watchable despite some of the heavier themes (and slightly goofy premise), and deserves a lot more acclaim than it ever got.

Very genuine acting,even though the plot is predictable and the outcome certain.The acting keeps it out the realm of just another fight movie filled with testosterone and glorifying the sport of MMA. Very well choreograph and the performance by Nolte is something to be admire.

I expected it to pander to the tight-shirt and gold-chain wearin' UFC clods, but this is a great film. Really, really, really well done. Great acting all around, but how about that Nolte, folks? AHAB STOP THIS SHIP! Man he was awesome.
