A product of its time for sure. But even taking that in to account, I think the story was pretty poorly told. Even at 2 hours, it seems like the movie ended early. Characters were quickly introduced to fill in plot details from the book, when they should have just been dropped.

This review is going out to counter wintermayer's bad review. I <3'ed this movie. Seriously. Again, I may have been under the influence while watching it, but I thought it was genius!

Yeah. Universal love for this from me.

I have recommended this movie to like 5 friends and they all liked it. This is my most watched DVD. Probably watched like 7-10 times during its life.

Less good than some of his others. But still good, even if it took you to 2013+ to see it.

If you can accept the premise (it is just fiction) of the Scremers (no spoilers), then it's a very good movie.
