Rushmore (1998)

Infinitely quotable, very sharp, every scene serves a purpose from being a throwaway joke to a massive plot pillar. Even the tiny callbacks give the warm feeling of looking through freshly developed photos. An amazing character arc that everyone should see.

Rushmore (1998)

This movie eluded me for a long time. Countless times I've walked into the local film shoppe, perusing the middle isle for this gem. Found it finally last week and wasn't disappointed. Best Anderson movie I've seen. It's the Anderson movie to see.

Rushmore (1998)

Line after great line, with seriously wonderful buoyant energy. It's no wonder Rushmore has taken the seat that it has over the years - that said, can I criticize it for being too Andersonian? I felt like it could have benefited from fewer musical montages.

Rushmore (1998)

This is a perfect example of the effect a film as intricate and vibrantly vivid as this, with all it's eccentricity and love of grand gestures and its respect for the tiniest fluctuations can have on your emotions for an hour and a half. I am still brought to tears from this one.
